Award-winning director and screenwriter Terry Gilliam (Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Brazil and Twelve Monkeys) has promoted the work of the Event Cinema Association (ECA) alongside our latest Spring 2014 trailer:
Terry Gilliam returns to the English National Opera this season to direct his second opera production Berlioz’s Benvenuto Cellini, together with ENO Music Director Edward Gardner – the identical pairing responsible for the company’s award-winning The Damnation of Faust in 2011.
Unseen in London for many years, and never previously at ENO, the Cellini production unleashes Gilliam’s inexhaustible imagination as a story-teller of the first order, and offers this theatrical showman an equally rich canvas simply begging for his special flair.
As part of Eno Screen, the opera will be screened live on 17 June 2014 in cinemas.
