Meet the Directors

Amelia Prisacaru Sales Director for Piece of Magic Entertainment
Amelia’s cinema industry career started in Event Cinema in 2012. She worked for the biggest independent cinema in Romania, where she oversaw both exhibition and distribution across the country, advocating for and strengthening Event Cinema in the territory. In 2019 she joined Piece of Magic and continued her career in International Distribution working with recurrent titles such as André Rieu’s concerts and Leagues of Legends gaming events.
She is dedicated to increasing the awareness of Event Cinema and adding to the weight that the sector carries in the international cinema landscape. In her view, this can be accomplished not only through ground-breaking titles for a variety of audiences, but also through encouraging cinemas to create memorable experiences, surprise their public with each show they attend, and turn them into loyal audiences.

Brad LaDouceur Vice President Event Cinema, Cineplex Entertainment
Mr. LaDouceur is Cineplex Entertainment’s Vice President of Event Cinema. He oversees the development and distribution of live and specialty content in Canada as part of Cineplex Entertainment’s Cineplex Events division.
An industry veteran with over 35 years’ experience, Mr. LaDouceur began his career in the exhibition industry in 1984 with Cineplex Odeon in theatre operations. In 1994, he was promoted to Director of Operations, Western Canada. In 1999, Mr. LaDouceur joined Galaxy Entertainment as Director of Operations. He was promoted in 2004 to the position of Vice President, Operations for Cineplex Galaxy LP, which he held until under Cineplex Entertainment he led the development and creation of the Event Cinema division, Cineplex Events and the launch of Cineplex Pictures Distribution.

Jan Runge Independent Cinema Consultant
Jan is an independent consultant with more than 15 years experience advising creative businesses, arts organisations, trade associations and government agencies on policy analysis, strategy and organisational development. He also heads up the international section of the International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA).
Before starting out as an independent consultant Jan was CEO of the International Union of Cinemas (UNIC), where he represented cinema operators and national trade bodies from 37 countries. Previous experience includes working in public policy, strategy consulting and telecoms.

Janelle Mason Founder and Co-Director of CinemaLive
Janelle founded CinemaLive in 2008 in Australia and moved the company HQ to London in 2011.Her early career of producing high end advertising campaigns for clients in Australia and Japan, led to an opportunity to widen her experience in the entertainment sector, by capturing live multi-camera theatrical, comedy and music concerts, as well as related television shows and series. A combination of her career experience and a real desire to bring live entertainment to regional areas of Australia, culminated in the creation of CinemaLive, a company now capturing, marketing and distributing some of the world’s greatest music bands and entertainers to cinemas globally. With teams based in London and Sydney, and the growth and awareness of Event Cinema expanding across continents, Janelle is committed to nurturing and supporting the industry and is proud to be a Board Member of the Event Cinema Association.

Johnny Carr
Group Manager for Event Cinema, Vue International.
Johnny has worked in the exhibition industry continuously for the past 25 years holding a variety of positions at companies such as Picturehouse, Virgin/UGC Cinemas and for the past 16 years at Vue.
He is the Group Manager for Event Cinema for Vue International, in a role that spans 9 countries, 225 venues and over 1,900 screens.
He is a passionate advocate for Event Cinema and works tirelessly to drive the sector forwards, through the championing of new genres of content and growing audiences.

Katrin Mathe
International Event Cinema Manager Kinepolis
After 7 years of distribution activity at CGR Events, Katrin joined the Kinepolis cinema group in October 2019 as International Event cinema manager.
Kinepolis Group currently operates 108 cinemas worldwide, with a total of 1,097 screens and Katrin is overseeing alternative content development, acquisitions and programming.

Laura Correia
AVP Film & Event Cinema National Amusements
Laura Correia has been a part of the cinema exhibition industry for 25 years. Her various roles at National Amusements have focused on film and content programming for the US and international markets. A vital element of her tenure has been the relationships fostered with studios and event cinema distributors worldwide.
For the past decade, she has managed and advanced National Amusements’ Event Cinema program, utilizing her global expertise to create new opportunities for in-theatre programming. This year, her role expanded to include film buying and programming for National Amusements’ New York market.

Marc Allenby CEO, Trafalgar Releasing
Marc is CEO of Trafalgar Releasing. With over 20 years’ experience in the cinema industry spanning across exhibition and distribution, he has worked with all the major arts organisations in the cinema space including the Royal Opera House, NT Live, Royal Shakespeare Company, Metropolitan Opera, Bolshoi Ballet and Glyndebourne alongside unique and innovative ‘one off’ cultural events. In February 2017 Marc helped facilitate the management buy-out of Picturehouse Entertainment, re-establishing the company, with its experienced 18-strong team, as Trafalgar Releasing. Trafalgar are now firmly established as the global market leader in event cinema, and experienced a bumper 2019 with global success with BTS, Metallica, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Roger Waters and Gorillaz.

Sarah Lewthwaite
Chief Client Officer, Movio
Sarah has over 20 years of experience in the cinema industry, joining Movio in 2014 to oversee the company’s growth in the EMEA region.
In her current position as Chief Client Officer, Sarah is accountable for Movio’s revenue and the company’s cinema, film studio and film distributor partnerships, globally.

Simon Tandy
Managing Director, Omnex
Live cinema advocate & Founder of LANsat (industry recognised delivery system for film distribution and live broadcasts), Simon has worked to facilitate broadcasts on both a global and local scale for over 20 years.
